Blob of mucous after a bowel movement

This is a pretty disgusting one, sorry.

I have been constipated for a few days and have been very gassy and felt a bit sick, almost like the worlds mildest tummy bug without any D&V happening iyswim. I managed to go today, bowel movement was normal but followed by a lot of egg white mucous, quite solid, seems like cervical mucous you get when you ovulate but definitely came from my bum.

Is it normal? Due to being constipated? I do normally get a little tiny bit wet in my bum before a bowel movement (I am so sorry!) so maybe it built up? Or is it something serious?

I have serious health anxiety so too scared to google.

Also no blood, and no pain while passing it. Been a bit crampy due to constipation but not what I would call pain. But there was a large amount of this mucous stuff.

I wouldn't worry. I've had this (I have mild IBS) - I think I've read it as being the lining of your insides. Something you've eaten has maybe caused you to clear out a bit more than usual.

To be safe, any long term or regular changes to habits should be reported to your GP, but I wanted to reassure you that this is pretty normal!

Thank you. Would you go to the GP if it turns out to be a one off or just if it starts to happen regularly?

Only if it's regular I think - although I'm not medically trained!
