Anyone with a little sympathy for us? My 6 yr old DD brought home headlice from school when she started 2 yrs ago!
I have treated repeatedly, every product on a weekly basis. Conditioner and nitty gritty. Every-fucking-thing!
I've cut my hair short as its spread. My 2 yr old boy has them too. Both kids have loads, I mean loads of hair. The toddlers is wavey and he's a wriggler. DD's hair is super thick and very long and she's a screamer and tantrum queen at the best of times! Help! Just can't get rid. I'm on the verge of shaving!!!!!!!!

My daughter had exactly the same problem and with thick hair too.The only thing that worked was nit combing every night with piles of conditioner, wiping the comb after each stroke and crushing the live lice.It has to be done for two weeks and then a couple of times a week thereafter.Like you I tried everything,i even mixed up my own potion with essential oils and cling filmed her head for a couple of hours after with some effect.
Unfortunately getting rid of critters takes time and commitment , I was lucky as my girl would sit still and let me comb away. She still likes e to do it now - and she's 14 !!!!

Thanks for your reply. I know I'm not alone in this, but it's driving me bonkers! There is no way my DD will let me comb her hair through every night. It really sends her into one. I'm lucky if she'll even let me check it. I'm at the point of saying if you won't let me do your hair, we'll have to cut it. Her hair is beautiful and everyone always comments on it. But I'm finding all the combing is drying her hair out too. We'll see how it goes. Even my 2 yr old Will let me wet comb in the bath!

I'm dreading the day when my kids get them - there has been a case in my dd2 nursery so well see. I got them on my honeymoon (before kids!!!!). Hate them but you know every kid will get them at some point in their lifetime? Sorry your kids have thick hair!

The first time I saw them, I was shocked and disgusted. Now I'm hardened to it, but just can't see an end to it. I hope yours don't get them. Not all do. I didn't have them until my daughter did. It's worse when your baby gets them, as obviously you don't want anything like that on your littlest. I'd cut his hair, but it's his crowning glory. A beautiful mop of thick golden curls! Of course you can't stop your kids from close contact with each other and never can tell whether its a new infestation or you managed to miss a couple of eggs, when treating. GAH!
