3 year old with an ear ache and I've already given him calpol is it ok to give him neurofen as well? I think I've done this in the past, but can't remember?

Yeah, fine to mix 'em. Different drugs.

WigWamBam · 21/06/2006 20:11

It's fine - you can give both.

GDG · 21/06/2006 20:11

Yes fine.

Beast way,I find, then you're never waiting too long for the next dose of something.
(Although I do have to write it down if antibiotics are involved too)

sugarfree · 21/06/2006 20:13

or even the best way although I expect it works for animals too.

Fine to give both together then alternate.Nurofen 8hourly and Calpol 4 hourly. But i am sure you know that

rosiesmumof4 · 21/06/2006 20:14

It's fine. i'd go for eg calpol at 12noon, nurofen at 2pm, calpol at 4pm, nurofen at 6pm and so on so there isn't a break in the painkilling effects.

Jzee, yes it's fine, but I never give nurofen on a completely empty tum. I used to, then heard a horrific story about a friend of a friend, where the child was very sick because of this. Even a mouthful of milk should be OK. Hope he/she better soon!
