Basically that, long list of symptoms at the mo. I have a kidney infection at the mo, first anti bs didn't work, second gave me a reaction so started third lot today. Have a pain under bottom rib on the left so ahve been panicking about that. It's not crippling but there none the less. Could this be ibs? I have anxiety so I'm thinking the worst. Doc says its probably just back up of poo but I've been lots. Having blood tests tomorrow. Any advice to help? X

I hope you get this issue sorted quickly.

I had my gallbladder checked out a few years ago as the agonising pain was presumed to be gallstones. The pain was at times unbearable & it appears now it is the bowel spasming. There have been times when it feels so inflamed & it gets caught under the rib. Now thats the worst bowel pain! Seeing a new specialist in November & it is looking like surgery for me as I've suffered with constipation & bowel issues for many many years & explored all the other options.

Is it an ongoing issue with your bowel? Do you suffer with constipation or is this a new symptom? Are taking anything for it? Sorry for all the questions, maybe I could help if you add a little more detail. Meanwhile, please try not to stress about it. I have had bowel pain that you talk of for years & I'm still here kicking & screaming!

Thanks Muteroo, would be great for your advice.
My history is had a niggling pain on left side underneath first/second rib for two months. Not agonising or crippling but annoying. Like a mild tummy ache I suppose. Had an episode end of July possibly gastritis and its got worse since then. I have a kidney infection the mo so am feeling awful too but pain is really bothering me now. Have lots of indigestion and can sometimes hear gas 'popping' in my stomach. Doc said she could feel my bowels yesterday more than she would normally and suggested be packed up with poo (sorry!) but I go lots a the moment so I don know. I have been thinking the worst as its how I am I'm afraid. :-( I'm taking omeprazole and on anti biopics at the mo. xx

Feel terrible this morning, dizzy, nausea, shaky just generally really not well. Got a docs appointment but with a doc I'm not keen on. Hubby coming with me. I'm just feeling worse by the day :-( x

All tests ok, blood pressure, heartbeat, oxygen. Blood tests for kidney and liver ok still waiting for esr and crp (or whatever they are?) worried more about them as they show anything nasty. Urine test shows no infection so coming off all anti bs and omeprazole to see if its thm making me bad. Had chest x ray and having tummy scan in three weeks x

Has your gp referred you to a Gastroenterologist? Your symptoms sound like the ones I had 2 years ago & I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in Feb 2012. I had the pain under the ribs, going to the loo loads but the nurse could still feel my bowel & said I felt constipated. I also had vomiting & just generally felt unwell for ages. Apparently IBD (Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis) can be mis-diagnosed as water infections as the symptoms are similar. I've been on medication for 18 months now & I'm so well. Try not to worry & don't google (although I know its tempting).

Oh & your CRP level is the amount of inflammation in your body which can indicate Inflammatory Bowel Disease - don't know what the other one is though.

Hope you feel better soon - if you want to talk feel free to pm me.

Thanks Mrs Pinot! That's interesting, how do they test for crohns? I suppose if the symptoms are still there after my abdominal scan they will refer me to gastro? I'm curious about what you say about water infections being mistaken for ibs etc. I did have white cells in my urine sample, I wouldn't get this with ibs would I? Thank you for your post, it's really reassuring xx
