Morning all

Hope everyone slept well.

Good luck today Ruby hope all goes well. Xx

kitkat1967 · 25/09/2013 06:54

Morning.

Good luck Ruby - hope you get your procedure done this time.

Does this lack of night-time posting mean that everyone slept through last night - (Malt/Gigs) - I do hope so Smile.

malteserzz · 25/09/2013 07:08

I did ! Been sleeping ok recently though start the steroids today so that might change
Bet gigs was tired after fleetwood mac

Taking ds to a secondary school open morning this morning surely my baby is not old enough! He's definitely going to that school anyway but feel like we should go anyway ! Then got friends for coffee and parent evening with dds form teacher tonight, busy day before poisoning number 4 tomorrow Hmm
I'm off for breakfast and steroids

Ruby hope it goes ok today
Amber good luck with the packing !

kitkat1967 · 25/09/2013 07:23

Ah yes, Chris Evans talking about Fleetwood Mac gig on the radio now.

Busy day for you then malt - but that's good.

I am going into work today - not my local office which I go to quite often but my actual client site where I was working before diagnosis - I've not been back since before May half-term!

kitkat1967 · 25/09/2013 07:30

Amber - get packing!!

I put my stats into 2 of the Predict sites last night (never been brave enough before but got given a letter yesterday with all my path details) and saw how good the long term survival rates are just as you told me!! It's strange to see that in my 15 year stats I have roughly as much chance of dying of a non-BC cause - after going through all of this I must be careful with buses!!! I also saw the improvement now the tumour is not 6cm so no wonder all the team are so much more relaxed now.

Gigondas · 25/09/2013 07:35

Morning all - Brew? Had fab time but late night at fleetwood mac.

Was very noisy with builders yesterday (and they have lost the safety locks on window which need for mini gig so that is what I will be hunting for today). One looked like this tho not naked for hnd.

Handbags welcome lovely but sorry you are here.

Gracie- wishing you all best with scan and sat on box. It can take ages to recover from chemo so may well be over doing it and you had a very tough spell with your illness and losing your dad etc.

Amber have a lovely holiday.

amberlight · 25/09/2013 07:47

KitKat, aye. Though I don't tend to use Predict much; I go back to the original data and trawl through that. End result's the same though.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/09/2013 08:00

fingers crossed for ruby !
Have you packed yet amber ? have a fabulous time -am pleased to see on fb that airport faffing has been averted.
Today am waiting in for plumber to fix washer on bathroom tap

BetsyBoop · 25/09/2013 08:09

Here's hoping ruby is already in theatre

Enjoy your hols amber

Ouchy ouchy bones this morning, waiting for painkillers to kick in...

Gigondas · 25/09/2013 08:22

Sending nice vibes to ruby and less ouchy ones for betsey.

morning all

ruby I hope thigs go exceptionally well today

gigs thanks for the pic - naked builders ? now there's a concept (must all be fit and hansome though and no wobbly aged bits)

topsy aww my practice daughter needing crop tops - bless her

amber have a fantastic holiday and glad the airport are being good to you

kit kat the way it feels, I could go back to college and train to be a consultant myself before this wound heals up !

I am usually very buoyant, but this flaming wound is really getting me down - I think it is because i saw the light at the end of the tunnel and now someone has switched the bastard thing off. I am seeing my surgeon tomorrow and I know she will be disappointed too, she just thought she would be taking the final suture out. The would is leaking seroma/fatty tissue again and not frank blood which is actually worse ! If it was blood they could just fix it again but being as it is tissue, it obviously need somewhere to go. Bloody fed up :(

kitkat1967 · 25/09/2013 10:06

HND - I'm not suprised you are fed up - it has been an incredibly long time since your original Op (and presumably before the Op you weren't ill at all?).

My reconstruction is tentatively planned for the start of Jan and I'm hoping that between you and Gig you have had our fair share of 'leaking' wounds. Blush

BetsyBoop · 25/09/2013 10:08

hnd not surprised you are totally fed up, I think anyone would be in your shoes. It's just not fair that your wound hasn't healed yet. Fingers crossed your surgeon has a cunning and quick plan to fix it tomorrow.

foofooyeah · 25/09/2013 10:10

Lots of apps etc today for lots of people so wishing you all well wih them.

HND my buoyancy seems to have deserted me ATM.

MAS I had the plumber round for my leaky shower and he was gorgeous ... And didn't charge me! Just said it had only taken him 5 mins and to call him with any bigger jobs.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/09/2013 10:16

oooh, hope my plumber is lovely !

hnd you've had such an awful time with your wounds- no wonder you don't feel buoyant Sad

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/09/2013 10:16

sorry your bones are sore betsy x

smee · 25/09/2013 11:07

Wishing the best to Ruby for today. Bit late. Blush

HND, what a saga.. I'd be fed up too. Sad

Envy of Amber and her holiday.

Gracie, will sit on box for you too for scan. Hope it's clear. I think Gig's is right, as it takes ages to get over treatment xx

Hope you're okay Gig? How are builders today?

Bones aching sounds grim, Betsy. Does anything help? I can't remember much other than hot water bottles and walking round the block quite regularly. An effort, but it definitely helped.

Sorry you've had to join us handbag. Whatever you're facing one of us will have had similar so can fill you in and make it a bit less scary. It is scary, especially at first so don't feel the need to be brave or any of that nonsense on here. xx

Missed loads I know, but waving to all. Been buried with work and meetings. I have my 6 month check up at lunchtime. Yet again they sent me a mammogram appointment. had a very funny conversation with snooty receptionist when I called to cancel. She tried to tell me how important it was, then got very embarrassed when I said there was no point in my having one as I have no breasts. Grin

Wishing MAS a cute plumber. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/09/2013 11:48

lots of xx for 6 month check dear smee !

BetsyBoop · 25/09/2013 12:01

Everything x'd for your six month check smee - yes walking about and heated wheat bags help, but mostly painkillers once they kick in Grin - not been anywhere near as bad as last time (thank goodness!) -just the drugs wear off overnight so waking up ouchy and it takes me a while to get going in the morning. (feel about 90 when I first get up...)

Hoping ruby is all done and dusted and on to tea and toast by now :)

Also hope you get a cute plumber MAS

just caught up with last night's GBBO - is it just me or are Christine and Ruby increasingly annoying?

handbagsatdawn · 25/09/2013 12:07

Morning. Sorry to those who have sore and leaking bits and lots of on-going problems. You are all so strong. I am going to be rubbish at your names and specifics for a while so forgive me.
So appt at 4pm today - I have not slept and am now trying to doze on the sofa whilst simultaneously catching up with Downton. You've all been there, so I don't need to tell you how I'm feeling.
I have a big posh function to attend tonight with a whole bunch of VIPs, plus family, and I am dreading it. My BIL is the most over-emotional person I have ever met and DH had to give him a pep-talk last night about not mentioning my health tonight; I am sick of talking about it. So have to whizz home from hosp having received whatever the news is, get my glad rags on and then catch a train up to London. Perhaps they'll let me wear a bag over my head as I look like shite.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/09/2013 12:25

hug for handbags x

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/09/2013 12:26

betsy I have really taken against Christine and never took to Ruby at all...I like Glen -he seems a sweetie.

amberlight · 25/09/2013 12:51

I've been here years and I'm still total rubbish at names and things Blush but that'll be because my brain doesn't have the right wiring.

Dunno about strong; I think we've all taken it in turns to wobble and race for the Paranoia Box at times. But after a while it really does become the New Normal.

No packing done yet. Ooops.

handbagsatdawn · 25/09/2013 12:57

Amber I'm hopeless at names in RL so have no hope here.
Start packing!!!!!! Where are you going on hol?

I like Ruby - she has hair like my dd1 so that's probably the only reason.

malteserzz · 25/09/2013 13:31

Handbags do you have to go tonight ? Just thinking appointments are stressful and tiring and you might want to just come home and chill ? Good luck for it anyway

Busy morning here, ds enjoyed the school tour then had 2 ex colleagues for coffee which was nice. Caught up on the gossip !

Have taken all my steroids Hmm hate taking tablets before this it was very rare I took anything. Have painted my nails dark purple too ready for tax
