Help!! head lice on 16mth old ds

I've found 2 live lice in ds's hair I have managed to get them out, but I know there is at least 1 more. Does anyone know of any good lotion or something to get rid of them, bearing in mind he's only 16mths. I'll need a big bottle I expect because both dh and myself have long hair we'll have to treat too.

does he have loads of hair? most children that age have quite fine hair and it's fairly easy to comb the lice out. that's better for them than using lotion.

check out lots of other threads about the Nitty gritty comb. though we found with our 1 year old last year that any cheap nit comb was ok, she had fine wispy hair and the lice couldn't hide.

He does have a lot of light fine hair, don't think he'll keep still long enough for me to check. Where can you get nitty gritty comb from? I hope that I can get to the chemist tomorrow.

I think you can get it on prescription from your GP. or buy it from a website for about £10.

or buy a cheap one from a chemist for a couple of pounds and try that first. for a baby with fine hair. you use them with any conditioner, every few days for a couple of weeks.
