URGENT ADVICE NEEDED RE. SICK DD

Hi, am going to be v. quick as dd v. sick.

Ok, so she's had a fever for 3 days, but was coming down with something for a week. Dry cough at night thought it was probably croup which she's had before. Cough went, fever up to 40 so have been giving calpol and neurofen. She's clearly in a lot of pain as she's sort of half asleep but moaning constantly. Took her to the gp yesterday who said chest and ears were fine but throat v. inflamed and gave antibiotics. Since I started them yesterday she's had non-stop diarreah and has refused to eat or drink ANYTHING, I mean literally nothing, totally dry nappies now for 24 hours.

So, do I stop the antibiotics as they may be affecting her stomach? If I do am I putting her at risk with her throat? Or is she not eating and drinking because of her throat? She's v. unhappy and listless, hasn't walked a single step in 3 days, she either sits on my knee looking glazed or on the floor looking glazedly at the t.v. And she's finding it v. hard to sleep which is not like her, even when ill she usually zonks out.

And she's crying / moaning ALL the time. Also not like her.

Have phoned NHS direct they just say take her to gp but it's the weekend. Don't want to go to A&E unless absolutely necessary.

Hi all, dd IS a bit better today though still eating less than a little fairy. Well, as you may have seen from other threads of mine, she's not exactly a big eater at the best of times. But she's drinking a bit more at least. Still v. small amounts, maybe 6oz water in a day. She doesn't want milk. Weirdly she seems to want to eat small squares of cheese so I'm giving those to her. But she's still v. poorly, she hasn't even attempted t walk across the lounge poor little soul, she just wants to be carried around on my hip or to sit on her cushion watching teletubbies cuddling her favourite toy.

They really get to you when they're sick don't they? Those big eyes looking out as if to say 'what's happening?'
