Basically that, had pain in upper left abdomen, behind ribs and indigestion. Nausea sometimes too. Please advise, getting in a silly state x

Acid reflux, stomach ulcer, hernia, all common non life threatening conditions that can be managed with medication. How long have you had the symptoms? Get yourself to the doctors, ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist and have an endoscopy to put your mind at rest. Maybe, stop watching corrie!

Silvertop · 03/09/2013 09:18

Should say endoscopy and ultra sound.

mandmsmummy · 03/09/2013 09:21

Thanks, and you're right of course! The funny thing is I know all this but sometimes panic.
I'm behind on corrie so haven't reached that it yet!
Thanks x

Gallstones

MissMarplesBloomers · 03/09/2013 09:24

Well for a start your gallbladder, pancreas etc are on the right.(of your body) However you can have referred pains.

Get to your GP & let him/her do the diagnosing-whatever it is early intervention is always good.

Silvertop · 03/09/2013 09:31

Many of us like a good panic over a self diagnosed medical condition :-) Obviously get yourself to the GP, but in the mean time have you tried Gaviscon double strength in the pink bottle? It's good stuff! Good Luck.

Theas18 · 03/09/2013 09:32

Slapping you in a friendly fashion!

Go to your GP and get properly assessed rather than asking on a forum as you need to give a heck of a lot more details and know the person advising you is actually qualified. Meanwhile try some rennies/gaviscon.

Theas18 · 03/09/2013 09:33

And for heavens sake ignore the posters that say you need a bazillion investigations. You may but you may just need proper GP advice and treatment!

Silvertop · 03/09/2013 09:40

Get over yourself Theas18, the OP isn't asking for a diagnosis on a forum, she's asking for some lighthearted support. Of course she will see her GP and take their advice, but the two or bazillion investigations I mentioned are what the GP would most likely suggest if the OP's symptoms are on going. If the OP is in a real panic these investigations would put her mind at rest.

I've just diagnosed myself with gallbladder cancer this morning! :-(

I can feel a mass like a sausage below my right ribs. Scared. Just rang doc tor and have got appt tomorrow morning, which they are going to love as its my first day back at work after 5.5 weeks holidays!

mandmsmummy · 03/09/2013 12:03

Oh lucjam, I know what you mean and it will probably be nothing but better to get it checked. Could you be constipated? Could be a build up? X

Seen the gp, area with pain is my lung and spleen but gp doesn't seem worried. Thinks its linked to indigestion. Taking stomach liner for two weeks then back. Also doing a test for a bacteria in my tummy x

I self diagnosed pancreatic cancer a few months ago after having horrendous stomach pains which almost saw me in A&E. Investigations showed no pancreatic cancer and despite subsequent scans showing a couple of cysts the cause of the stomach pains is still a mystery.

lucjam · 05/09/2013 16:25

mandm glad you got sorted, my gp thinks its not liver or gall bladder (phew) but maybe muscular, got to keep an eye on it and go back if it gets bigger.

mandmsmummy · 05/09/2013 20:08

Lucjam that's good, muscular we can deal with!
I'm in a panic tonight again, mainly because the pain in back and also in my back now. It's not crippling pain though. Worried that they are missing something :-(

I'm in a state tonight, really upset convinced I have pancreatic cancer. Niggling pain upper left of tummy where pancreas reaches to, on back opposite side to front, generally unwell, indigestion, popping tummy sounds. Totally fed up, just want to know
