Wierd baby skin - reaction to antibiotics?

Ds (1 year) has some sort of infection.
Dr recommends amoxicillin as we're going on holiday the next day.
3 days later ds is much better but develops a strange lacey rash on torso.
Call Dr from holiday he says take baby off antibiotic.
2 days later skin all fine
Next day ds has horrible red lumps and bumps all over arms and legs (nothing on body)
What is going on???
Can amoxicillin make them super sensitive to all sorts?

Yes it can my ds was on penicilin which we then found out he was allergic to after coming out in nasty rash. Once they come off it it takes a good few days to get out of system but their skin is still sensitive for a while, especially if in the sun.

Claire - thanks a million, that's exactly what I thought was going on.
