For this to make sense i think I will add a bit of a back story.
Oct 2010, i had the implant, i bled for 3 months and got put on meds, all good. The following March I had a general appointment with Dr, and she said she would check my implant. I couldnt feel it.
April 2011, I have an untrasound, the sonographer cannot find it, but didnt even know what an implant was and scanned my elbow and below (WTF?)

I went back to drs and complained, they were going to assume implant hadnt gone in, when it had i had felt it under my skin blah blah blah, 2 weeks later I have another scan, it is found straight away and I get told when it is time to have it out, a scan will need to be booked to mark the spot, it had moved slightly.
During this time, I had not been spending masses of time with my fiance due to work and uni, and due to our living situation we did not have the space to be able to be intimate.

Soon after, sex became excruitatingly painful (and still is, to the point we have only had full penetrative sex twice in two years) sept 11.

By this point we think its linked to implant and I want it removed.
Book drs appointment, and after appointment get told to book back in 6 weeks as my dr was having some time off.
Next appointment turns out my dr retired on medical grounds, and now they could not offer the service at the drs.

Referral to sexual health clinic. leads to referral to hospital to have it removed, appointment got put back so many times, have to cancel as i was moving to the other end of the country.
Since then April 12, we have been moving around the country so have not been in a set place.

We finally settled Oct 12, so 10 months ago, start a new job, so it gets put back to feb signing up to drs to get it removed etc.
feb sign up, but then I cannot make any of the appointment times due to clinic times and work times.

April I go again, but the pick up on me not managing well with work and I get signed off work for 6 weeks. implant gets put off again!

End of may appointment booked for implant removal..... it doesn't happen but dr offers me two bits of advice.... leave it.... (not an option in my book) or to go to hospital to have a scan. She agreed it had to come out and said she was 90% sure it was linked to the pain during sex, we never had it before! this was 28th May, appointment finally comes through for 15th august for scan (2 1/2 months!!) (two weeks after our wedding, marriage still not consummated)
During the scan its like where i was before.... they could not find it.

19th have an appointment with dr, and i believe a referral went off on the 21st to a consultant radiologist.
I don't know how much longer I can take it.
I know there is an 18 week limit on waiting times for referrals..... would my time be classed as end of may, or would it be from 19th aug! It would take until 23rd Dec!!! It is due out in October anyway!! surely they need to do something

Would it be wrong of me to start chasing this up, and start pestering the necessary people!! I am so fed up.

I just want that intimacy back with my now husband!! i want to be able to consummate our marriage. We also want children in the close future!!

Any advice, please anyone!! so desperate!!!

Part of the reason its taken so long is because you moved round, but I would be chasing for them to take it out now you're settled. Hope they get it sorted soon for you

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 02/09/2013 01:48

Definitely chase it up now but you put that you couldn't attend an app due to work etc and moved about so that will have added to the time.

My sil lost hers too they never did find it but she got pregnant before they could do the MRI to locate it.

Twinkles, that is good to hear, but i doubt that would be able to happen for me as having it in and the decrease in sex drive has led to me being in too much pain and dr thinks that sex has become a psychological issue (My vagina is rejecting my husband as a result) and by having the implant removal will allow us to get back into a heathier and better sex life!!

I did phone dr today, and they said if i have not heard by friday to let them know and they will start chasing.

Starting to think realistically i will be lucky if it is out by xmas!! :(
