hi

i would like to have laser eye surgery but for various reasons i would want a female surgeon. the list of consultants on dr foster doesn't have many female surgeons and none that ive seen so far that do laser eye surgery (not been through the full list yet).

do you know of anyone you would recommend?

many thanks

Had mine at Moorfields several years ago. Female surgeon but can't remember her name, sorry. All fine.

I found this website really useful.

Hope that helps.

Thank you! That's really helpful. How are your eyes now?

Ms Marcela Espinosa is great! My friend and I came for a consultation to see her - I was found not suitable, but my friend was and went ahead with laser eye surgery and can't stop raving about her! She works at Centre for Sight in East Grinstead and I believe in London and Surrey as well. Here's a link to Centre for Sight's site -

My eyes are still great ten years in. As GemmaGow points out not everyone is suitable. I went for a free consultation at Boots laser clinic to check I was suitable first. That was actually very helpful...as I suffer with cold sores they advised a course of anti viral tablets around the time of surgery.

Once I knew I was a suitable candidate I went to Moorfields . I have also heard excellent reports of Centre for Sight.

One thing I would say is steer well clear of the cheap places. You only have one set of eyes.

Although you might read that you are fine very quickly, I took a good week or more to recover and took life very easy.
