Is L-theanine safe to take with anti depressants?

I have very severe insomnia along with anxiety and panic attacks, mainly at night which initially was caused by an abusive relationship, which I'm now out of but the insomnia is worse (doesn't help that I'm back with bullying and judgmental parents). In desperation after only 3 hours sleep in four days i went to a health food store today.
Assistant recommended Melissa Dream by New Nordic, which contains l-theanine which she said was the magic ingredient. I asked if it was safe to take alongside anti depressants and thyroxine. She rang the company and they said they weren't sure but it 'should be' .I've since googled and not found anything that mentions taking a/d's with it or not. Has anyone else tried it? if it works i'd like to try just theanine on its own.
I've just taken two, as recommended, of the M Dream so i really hope it doesn't go the other way and keep me awake!
In the last few weeks I've tried Temazapan (relaxes me but doesn't help me sleep ) and Valium (taken separately!) which makes me feel no different whatsover. I'm not allowed anything stronger than these . So i'm really at my wits end. This insomnia has been a year now. Many nights I don't even sleep for a second. I do have a counseller and go to Al Anon as abusive partner is an alcoholic..which helps but makes no difference to the tortuous nights.
I have posted this in two places as I really am desperate for advice or on anything else that could help.

L-Theanine is in green tea and helps you focus. I think it should be OK but why are you taking it on top of the AD's?

because I am so desperate and the health food shop assistant convinced me it was the magic answer to insomnia. It didn't make any difference last night but i'll give it another go. it has vitamin B etc with it...all good for nerves
