She is 17 and has a 'faecal mass' around which other stuff is coming so it looks like diahorrea.

I'm going to take her to the drs tonight, but in the meantime is there anything i can do as she is in agony and has developed piles!!

poor love!

The faecal leaking is called 'overflow'. Basically, because the bowels have become sluggish, you have stool that has sat around for a long period of time absorbing water from the bowel. So you have this curious situation where you have constipation and diarrhoea at the same time.

Def. get to the doctors, give her pain killers in the meantime but not coedine based.

Gentle excercise and plenty of water if she can bear it. Tell her not to try and strain on the loo, cold make things worse. GP will be able to give her some pretty powerful stuff, perhaps even an enema.

Should all be ok, just watch for signs of obstruction :- not passing wind anymore, foul burps and brown coloured vomit!

goo luck
