dd has severe constipation - help!!

She is 17 and has a 'faecal mass' around which other stuff is coming so it looks like diahorrea.

I'm going to take her to the drs tonight, but in the meantime is there anything i can do as she is in agony and has developed piles!!

You can buy lactullose over the counter lilibet, which is a stool softener (it works by drawing body fluid through the bowel wall to make the impacted faeces softer and easier to pass).
Your GP may well prescribe her some anyway - it can be quite expensive. It does work well on constipation that is the result of withholding (ie, not wanting to go rather than an underlying bowel problem).
Your poor dd and what a worry for you both. I bet she is very distressed and embarrassed about it :(
