When I clench my jaws together the right jaw hurts a little.

I wonder if anybody has experienced the same?
I'm off to my GP on Monday

Or you could go to a dentist who will be able to take Xrays and is likely to know a lot about this area of the face?

UnstoppableCousCous · 17/08/2013 00:14

Is it on the top jaw? Could be sinusitis. Swollen gums are a symptom. If it is, it will get loads more painful (sorry) and feel like really bad toothache.

Monty27 · 17/08/2013 00:17

Agree with Fanny, (lol)

Yes tooth/gum abscess.

SoleSource · 17/08/2013 00:18

Yes, will try dentist..

bottom right jaw, no swollen gums, it's in my cheek in the skin

Could you have bitten the inside of your cheek in your sleep with a sharp tooth and have a blood blister (I think that's what they are called)? Get a torch and have a look. If it is dark red/brown colour and round like a blister then that might be it. It will go of it's own accord if that is so.

SoleSource · 17/08/2013 10:25

No its inside the cheek. It is my right side face

I have jusat found a lump on the right side of my head, hot and painful to touch if pressed slightly. My face on the right side feels numb

I'm shitting myself it is cancer

OP posts:
Jollyb · 17/08/2013 13:16

If it's just in front of your ear it could be Parotitis (inflammation/ infection parotid gland).

Jollyb · 17/08/2013 13:18

Ps if gets worse might be worth seeing OOH GP in case antibiotics needed.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/08/2013 13:21

Hot, painful lump is most likely infection. See OOH GP.

magimedi · 17/08/2013 13:23

I am also thinking paratoid gland - I think you should see OOH GP - nasty place for an infection. The heat & pain really make me think it's an infection, rather than anything worse. (Not that it isn't horrid, but....)

WafflyVersatile · 17/08/2013 13:24

I'm 99% sure it's not cancer. And 99% sure you need to see the gp asap for ABs.

SoleSource · 17/08/2013 13:28

OK thank you all xx

I'm never ever ill, I was in 2005 with meningitis and almost kicked the bucket. So I think oh boy its serious.

Wonder8ing if bed bugs are in my ear/under my skin...[mad]

Jollyb · 17/08/2013 13:42

99.9% sure it's not bed bugs! Get well soon

Yonilovesboni · 17/08/2013 13:45

Please ring ooh doctors ASAP. I really think you need to be seen this afternoon xx

LEMisdisappointed · 17/08/2013 13:46

I know this sounds daft but go and suck on a lemon (or anything else that makes you salivate) Even thinking about sucking on a lemon does this apparently. I had a similar thing and it turned out to be a blocked salivary gland, doctor booked me for ultrasound but i think i got the info on here about lemons and it worked.

magimedi · 17/08/2013 22:16

How are you, Sole?

SoleSource · 21/08/2013 18:56

Hi magimed

I felt better the next day Confused
