2 wks ago dd had a temp for 6 days, rash over body, glands in the back of her neck were up (still are in fact) and she had (and still has) a chesty cough with a few white spots on her tongue. I took her to the doctors twice, both times (different doctors) said nothing to worry about they checked her over and both said its a viral inf, and that the rash could last for 2-3 weeks....

3 days ago, her hands started to peel, starting at the finger tips and now they are peeling all over her hands, tonight i decide to google and up comes \link{http://kidshealth.org/parent/medical/heart/kawasaki.html\Kawasaki Syndrome} and now i am really worried....can anyone offer any advice about her peeling hands which can set our minds at rest.

Hi my son had this few weeks ago and it was scarlett fever. Look it up on NHS website. It states that once rash has cleared up hands and feet will peel which his did do for quite a while. He has also now developed eczema from it drying out his skin.

A useful post Claire, but do be aware that many doctors diagnose scarlet fever when it is in fact kawasaki, so if in doubt please seek medical advice to rule out ks; better to be safe than sorry .
