Why is my scar getting itchy after a year?

It's a small scar at/on my belly button and its getting really itchy and annoying. It's from a hysterectomy I had last August.
I have a thing about my belly button being touched so I'm freaking myself out trying to scratch it.

Scar tissue does itch. Put done sudocrem on it.

Is it always itchy, or just occasionally? I agree with the Sudocreme suggestion, it did wonders for my CS scar.

My section scar still itches occasionally and that was 12 years ago! You should massage the scar for 4 mins a day, time it, it's longer than you think. It helps loosen up the tissue.

It's itchy everyday, but not all day. And just recently.

My section scar itches when AF is due. I wondered if your hysterectomy scar might be responding in a similar way but it appears not. Can you apply the cream with a cotton bud to save you having to touch it?

My c-section scar gets really itchy from time to time. Sometimes quite a lot, I have to be careful not to have a crafty scratch in public. My scar is 17 months old.
