ARGH! HELP ME! I'm on holiday in Portugal and I can't stop ITCHING!

Argh! It's driving me mad! A billion times worse at night (which is weird because if it is heat related night is the only time I'm consistently cool as apartment is air conditioned).

No rash as such but just unbearable itchy
Legs and arms are the worst, chest is a bit itchy too and lower face. I've started using ds's hypoallergenic sun cream in case it was my suncream that causing the problem but doesn't seemed to have helped.
I went in the pool only once yesterday for about 10 mins and showered immediately afterwards (rest of family are ok though so unlikely to be that).
I'm taking Clarityn daily and have bought some ruinously expensive cream called A-derme which the Portuguese pharmacist recommended (it helps a teeny bit). I am going to get some piriton to try for night time - can't take in the day as it makes me feel really groggy.
I'm going to strip the bed today and re-wash it with some washing tablets I bought from home.

Please, please can anyone suggest anything else to try? I'm desperate

What type of sheets do you have on your bed?

Just standard cotton white ones.

I wonder if yo could ask them to be changed?

Also, I would stop using sun cream at all over the next few days and see if that helps. Try and stay out of the sun.

Are your hands and feet particulary itchy?
