prolonged bleeding (poss tmi)

i was due af on 12 may, on 24 may i started losing big clots but no actual bleeding had none the following day and have been bleeding heavily with clots since then, i went to docs on 5 june who did preg test but was bfn and took blood to check if i was anemic which i am ever so slightly, she said come back on 8 june, the bleeding has stopped that morning so she said i didnt need anymore tests, so i went away happy but i started again at about 8pm heavier than before i went back the next day and was perscribed tranexamic acid which has not worked at all just made me feel sick and dizzy and given me stomach cramps. i am fed up with this now and just wondered if anyone else has had this. me and dh have been ttc for just over two years and this is really getting me down

You should be referred by your GP to a gynae for further evaluation and a proper diagnosis. What is the underlying cause?. Your GP hasn;t tried to address that. I had a feeling when I started to read your problems with AF that I knew what was coming next and yes the words "transexamic acid" cropped up. It can be helpful to some but it many cases it just does not work at all.

I can give you two possible causes for all this:-

1. fibroids
2. endometriosis

Both of these can cause anaemic symptoms to arise

Return to your GP asap and ask for a gynae referral. Do not take no for an answer and allow yourself to be fobbed off.

Gynaes generally like to see people after a year of ttc without success so you have another good reason to have an urgent referral.

i have an appointment with fertility clinic on 26 june which i have waited 3 months for. i have called doctor and she is going to give me a perscribstion for protogen and some iron tabs and said to make an appointment to be examined this week. but all this is really gettig me down
