Sunburn making me feel ill

nutcracker · 12/06/2006 18:05

Have burnt the top of my back, shoulders and tops of my arms. I did have sun cream on but just didn't realise I was burning.

Anyway I feel light headed and sick now, but am assuming there isn't actually anything i can do right ??

Got anything cooling you can put on it - after sun, aloe vera ? Keep in the shade and as cool as possible drinking chilled water.

Feistybird · 12/06/2006 18:19

I think FF means maintain your intake of salt, rather than slapping it on your sunburn (ouch)

nutcracker · 12/06/2006 18:22

Have just found some aftersun with aloe vera in so will spray some of that on now.

Thanks all

maybe you've got sunstroke if you're feeling sick etc.

I'm with zoe, sounds like sunstroke on top of the sunburn. Nausea and lightheadedness are normal. So is vomiting, I'm afraid.

(To avoid sunstroke, stay out of the sun, wear a light-coloured hat, particularly if you have dark hair, and drink lots of fluid.)

sounds like sunsroke, you need plenty of water, if no better by morning you need to see gp.
