DD is spotty! What is it please?

She has had chicken pox already and has had all the immunisations.

She has red, raised spots on her chest, leg and tummy area. Some of them have tiny white heads on them. She is a bit itchy all over but says the spots don't itch.

She feels fine, any ideas?

Has she been exposed to the sun recently? I get this if I don't take anti-histamines when the sun's out.

Yes, she was in the sun yesterday. Do you think its a heat thing then? I have given her a small spoon of Piriton syrup.

It's hard to say! Mine isn't heat, it's actually a mild allergy to the sun, I only get it where I'm exposed (and I forget to take the anti-histamines!). It does sounds just like that though. If she still has them tomorrow i'd pop her down to the gp's just to be sure. How old is she??

How are her spots today?

DS has had a simillar thing last couple of days, but only on shoulder and chest. It doesnt itch or bother him at all. Im thinking it must be the heat, although am having intermitent neurotic mummy moments about it .

When DS got out of the bath tonight, I noticed he is covered in spots all over his tummy and on both legs. He is well in himself though so I just assume its heat rash. Usually they get a temperature with any other type of rash. No harm in getting it checked out by a Dr, especially if it spreads.

My dd had a rash which sounds similar which just disappeared after a couple of days. There were no other symptoms.

Sounds like heat rash. Dd has it all under where her hair is, so have tied hair up, and put calamine lotion on.

Worth bearing in mind that a rash is all part and parcel of the body's immune response (pusing undesirables out through the skin) and shouldn't be surpressed.

I would just give her plenty of water to drink to help flush it through and, ideally, only eat good fresh organic food so as to limit the introduction of any more toxins.

It's typical! My dd is now covered all over her legs and body with just this type of rath, I know it;s not the sun though! I t really does look like a smaller version of chicken pox but she's had that!!

must eb the season for it ,o urs have had rashes too - but more flat, red and itchy like sunburn . First one (probably viral) spread from legs to face , second one is blotchy but only on the face so maybe heat/sun related, suncream reaction or ? . No temperature or other symptoms so v odd. E45 itch relief seems to have helped.

It must be! She literally has 100's of them. Given she's fine in herself, I can her to school can't I?
