Severe adult chickenpox. This is such a horrible nightmare

Confused I can't believe what I thought of as a mozzy bite turned into full blown chickenpox. I honestly just want to be sedated and wake up when the worse is over. I just can't bear looking in the mirror anymore it's revolting. I already have pretty crap skin and now this. I'm terrified about the scars even though I haven't scratched. I won't even let my hb see me in a lit up room Blush

Have you been to or called your GP? Acyclovir will shorten the length of the illness.poor you.

Been to the walk in which sent me home empty handed without even enquiring if I was preg (I'm not) Then did some research and next day -Monday- went to practically demand some acyclovir which I got but I think it was too late by then as the blisters just carried on getting bigger and nastier by the hour Confused

So sorry, I had this earlier this year, and felt really bad. Try and rest as much as you can. My face was covered in spots, and no scarring whatsoever, it will clear, although its hard to believe!

Hope you feel better soon ......

Oh you poor thing, dh had chicken pox as an adult and it was horrid.

Try lukewarm baths with lots of baking soda. And I hope it passes soon.

My sister had adult chickenpox. I'd never seen anything like it, her whole body was covered in spots. She didn't scratch them and is scar free which is amazing given the degree of spots she had. She was unwell for about a week with it, hope you feel better soon. Flowers to cheer you up!

Hi OP, just wondered how you are feeling now? Much better hopefully!

I was in a right mess with C pox as an adult and have no scarring. I remember the worst was the spots on my scalp--could not go near a hairdresser for months. Thank goodness we can only get it once.
