I wasn't prescribed anti-ds specifically for IBS, but I have taken both amitriptyline and citalopram in the past and found that both helped my general pain levels (I have ME and fibro) including the stomach pains I get from IBS.
Which one is your gp considering putting you on?

It's my dh
He has had very bad digestive problems daily for nearly two years.
He has had-
Colonoscopy
Endoscopy
Ct scan
Mri
you name it
The doctors can find nothing wrong we assume it is IBS but have no diagnosis.
One gastro prescribed a low dose of Imipramine (something about the pain pathway) but it didn't help.
He asked his Gp about ad's but all he said was to try CBT
They think it's all in his head.
