NO, and never would either. My brother keeps waffeling on about it (he watches the salon).

Festivefly · 09/02/2004 14:11

I need it

Janstar · 09/02/2004 14:12

I have

CountessDracula · 09/02/2004 14:14

A mate of mine goes to Thailand every January for 2 weeks of colonic irrigation (or so he says LOL!)

says it makes him feel marvellous and that you wouldn't believe what comes out bleargh

suzywong · 09/02/2004 14:15

OK since you mention it
What I don't understand about it is do they put the soapy water tube up first then put up an 'out-flow- tube or do they put up two tubes at the same time?

My friend was at a James Brown gig in NY last year and JB was rambling about the benefits of C.I.
He said, 'now I've had that Colonic Irrigation I can do more of what I didn't oughta, better'

Does that swing your opinion, Coddy?

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:15

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 09/02/2004 14:17

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:17

8lbs??? Really? How fantastic. Always knew I was full of sh*t but didn't realise how much

Janstar · 09/02/2004 14:17

I doesn't hurt. It's about as uncomfortable as doing a large poo.

melsy · 09/02/2004 14:17

Not a great conversation with stomach bug & nausia, but I feel it does a similar job!!!!

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:18

and is it embarassing or uncomfy and how do you feel afterwards/ how long? how much?

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 09/02/2004 14:19

Can't you just take Picolex instead? Does the job and no hoses!

Janstar · 09/02/2004 14:21

Not really embarrassing, just you and the therapist who has performed the treatment many many times before.

Feel quite good afterwards, it helps you to detox.

Also the therapist can tell by what comes out if you have any problems with your digestion, and she can recommend herbs, dietary changes or whatever.

When I used to have it it used to cost about £50 for an hour.

suzywong · 09/02/2004 14:22

Janstar,
how so the tubes work?
Sorry to sound prurient but i am reallly intrigued

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:22

OP posts:
Festivefly · 09/02/2004 14:23

My body is empty of shitand has been for eight months, i had super strength colonic irrigation and sent my faeces packing to Chester and fill someone else with crap.

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:25

ff you are naughty

OP posts:
suzywong · 09/02/2004 14:27

ff it is soooooooooooo good to have you back

Janstar · 09/02/2004 14:28

It's a bit hard to see what's going on!

There must be two tubes but they are inserted in one piece. My therapist used to massage my tummy which also helps loosen the 'debris' inside.

I didn't lose any weight.

She examines what comes out through a clear tube. Nothing is exposed to the air, it is all enclosed and goes straight into a disposal system.

Sometimes she used to put a little camomile in the irrigation water. It relaxes the muscles if you are a bit nervous.

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:32

do you miss not having it?

I watched it on telly a programme about a thai monastry where you dettox to get of drugs. There was one tube, the coffee mixture was squirted up and then when all finished they sucked on the tube yo cause a vacuum for a second. It then started to filter out. Very noisy

Coddy · 09/02/2004 14:37

OOh ff didnt we have a thread about that prog? I have been trying to find it so I can remember what the charity was callesd and find out if they satyed off it.

I stopped having in when I was pregnant. I could have carried on but I had moved away and it was a long way to the practitioner I had been going to.

If money were no object and I had plenty of time I might go back, but I don't think it made a huge amount of difference really.
