IBS, hormones and breastfeeding

This afternoon I've had my first attack of IBS since having DD3 9 months ago. Is it coincidence that I'm also just finishing my first period since she was born? Are IBS episodes related to hormonal changes in any way?

Also, I was prescribed Mebeverine before I was pregnant, does anyone know if that's ok to take whilst breastfeeding? Are any IBS drugs safe in breastmilk?

Thank you!

Afraid cant answer about the drugs but my IBS is completely linked to my hormones. Suffered severely for years. Hospital referrals the lot. Came off the pill to try and conceive, never had another attack. Then after Ds2 back with every period.

Yes mine was related to hormones. As soon as I changed from no pill, or combined pill, to progesterone only pill it was cured!
