My MIL has appealled twice with no success. I am sure if they came to see her, they would give her the DLA straight away. She has othperious (sp??) and is in continous pain. She can't get out the house unless her hubby takes her in the car.She can't lift pans or climb stairs without pain. Or peel vegatables. She can't even walk to her friends 3 doors up. When she does get out she has to use a stick as she falls. But they are saying that the condition doesn't cause that much pain or a disability but we all know different..
Any idea what we could do now?

just try again. you know how many times dh has applied now. and i know how bad your mil is, its a shame the system doesnt work properly for those who really need it. why can i get high rate care for my dd, when your mil is in a lot of pain and cant get a thing. i know dd requires care throughout the night, but to refuse someone in constant pain just beggers belief.

has she actually gone to the appeal hearings? it could be worth getting Jay to drive her up there if she applies again and gets refused.

Do yu have a person to help fill it in locally? I was talking to someone in a wheelchair recently- she was refused mobility for years.
