My friend who recently had a baby wants 2 know if it is ok to have a perm done while she is still losing more hair that normal. Her hairdresser thinks its ok but she just not sure. Thanks

Perming uses very harsh chemicals. My hairdresser hates having to do them because she feels that they are not good for hair. I'd leave it until hormones are well settled and all that full 'pregnancy hair' falls out. What about a body wave? Do they still do those? I haven't heard of anyone getting a perm for years. There are so many products that help define curls without having to have one done.
