Swapped from combined pill to mini pill - never ending period! Anyone had the same?

I've been swapped from my ovysmen pills as I admitted to the docs that I suffer from aura migraines. The risk of stroke is higher with the combined pill, so I've been swapped from the normal pills that I've been taking with 2 pregnancy breaks since I was 17 (more than 20 years!)

I'm now on Cerazette and had to take one on the first day after I stopped my ovysmen. I had my normal bleed, but then it hasn't tapered off or stopped.

It's getting annoying. How long is it likely to carry on?

I tried the injection in the bum when younger, but stopped as instead of having no periods, I had constant spotting instead. Am hoping this won't be the case with the Cerazete.

Take cerazette two and have not had a period in 3years. Wait to settle down?

I'm going to persevere cos I can't be bothered with the fuss of going back to the gp straight away.

My DH will think it's Christmas if I don't have any periods due to this pill. :)

The first time I took it pre-DS I didn't have periods for 7 years. This time I've been bleeding for 4 months. Am currently waiting it out.

I had the same, took a few mini pill swaps to find the one.
One dr I saw refused to swap saying if one did it they all would, changed drs and he said we just had to find the right one and we did.

Yes, it should settle soon.

I was the same when I started to take it I bled for about 2 weeks and had really irregular periods for the first month or two...then it quickly settled and I didn't have any more periods until I stopped taking it...it was so good for booking holidays etc I didn't have to worry about dates clashing with pill breaks etc

I had this happen to me, but am not getting on with the POP for other reasons. I have given up after 3 sorts.

2kidsintow · 23/07/2013 21:37

Well, it's only been a couple of days, but things have settled down. Will see how things progress.

Thanks for all the replies.
