Banged head

Ds has just toppled over and banged his head. It's on the side of his forehead and he now has a bruise and a lump.
He cried (well screamed) for a good 10 minutes but has now calmed down, but is grisly.
He's smiled and had some banana since.

So do you think I ought to get him checked over, or to just keep an eye on him?

Lump = good. Would just keep an eye on him.

DS fell over today at his CM and she had to fill out a form, he has a big pavement shaped bruise on his forehead.

I second that lumps equal good.

PanicPants · 06/06/2006 18:57

Ok.

Why are lumps good?

He bangs his head all the time now he's crawling but this time he hit the floor with such a thump and screamed so much it frightened me.

Not sure. Just "know" dents = not good. Bump = equals blood to sore point therefore body dealing with it?

LIZS · 06/06/2006 19:06

bumps normal, crying good - try holding something cold against it(ice pack or ice cube in a placcy bag and teatowel) and something like arnica cream to bring out the bruise and reduce swelling. If he hit a flat surface rather than an edge he is probably fine.

PanicPants · 06/06/2006 19:23

Yes he hit the flat - but wooden- floor, and the swelling is on his temple.

He's very very grisly which isn't like him at all.

Thankyou for your replies, you've put my mind at rest now. Was having Eastender type moments with little mo!

onion! as long as not bleeding cut an onion in half, score, and rub juice on wound! has natural anti-clotting properties and stops bruising!! its amazing!!!

PanicPants · 06/06/2006 21:05
