ds is 8 and on Sunday went sailing. When he came home I noticed about half a dozen small pimples on his face . Yesterday his face had a vaguely bruised look in places but overnight he has scratched it so his face now has red, angry looking patches. Have tried Aveeno this morning and just given him some Piriton in case it is a reaction and stop the itching. Any other ideas or do we just give it time ? Oh and he is also cutting teeth so could it even be related to that (he used to get red cheeks when teething as a baby!)?

It is no better today and he is gutted to be missing his swimming lesson. What is worse he did pe yesterday afternoon and didn't think to put sunscreen on his arms which ahd previsouly been covered by his jumper, so he has red patches there too. Anything I can try to reduce the redness ?

you could get a mild hydrocortisone cream from the chemist H45 has 0.5% hydrocortisone and will help for eczaema and allergic type rashes.
Pure alovera gell is great for sunburn.

On second thoughts, can you get it for a child over the counter, without prescription ?

manufactureres reccomendations say 10 yrs. TBH though I use a 1% cream on the chap (he is 11 months).. Am sure it would be fine as long as you dont go mad. You could perhaps show the rash to your HV/schoool nursee and then tell the pharmasist you are buying it on there reccommendation.

sorry just checking, Hc cream is 1%. You could do as previously suggested or show the rash to the pharasisit and see what they reccommend.
