Can anxiety make you feel like this?

I feel naseous most of the day and night. I feel like I may be sick but never am. My tummy makes gurgle noises a lot and (sorry tmi) when I go to the loo it is always loose. Gp thinks it is my anxiety, I am worried it is something more worrying but I can see how a cycle begins of me worrying and thus making symptoms worse. Am just fed up of feeling this way, I do suffer with anxiety and started CBT last week after being reffered by my GP.

Yes it can. It's awful, awful but in my case certainly, it's anxiety. The physiology behind it makes sense, to do with adrenilin, 'fight or flight' and the body diverting resources from non essential actions (such as digesting food) in preparation for the perceived sabre toothed tiger attack :)

Sorry, hope the cbt helps. There's a book about dealing with the symptoms, ill look it up when I get out of the bath. It helps to accept and embrace them, not fight and tense against them.

Yes the counsellor explained the fight or flight bit to me. Would really be interested in the book, thanks.

Do you find the more stressed or anxious you are the worse the feelings of sickness are?

Yes! I am often sick when anxious/worried.

Has your doctor prescribed you any medication along with cbt? It does work, but takes time and hard work.

Maybe try looking up the linden method? I borrowed the book from a friend and it helped
