Ok.....I need to have some major lifestyle changes.

I'm only 25 yet feel wrecked already. I really feel that over the last year or so I have started to lose my looks and my youth.

There are so many things I should change to feel better but not sure really how to go about it or what I should be doing

I smoke which obviously wont be helping
I am prone to binge eating shite around my period
I am often stressed
I worry so much about fruit and veg intake for my children I often forget myself
I have put a bit of weight on
I keep getting recurrent styes on my eyes
I have very little energy, some days anything remotely active just seems too much
For the first time ever in my life recently Ive started to feel a bit low
My skin looks worse than usual
Im neglecting my normal beauty routines
I dont get enough sleep - DH works shifts so Im usually on my own with the kids. Once they go to bed and I tidy up/clean and then watch some TV its always so late

Did I mention I binge drink too? I dont drink regularly in the house but when I do I DOOOOOOO - a night out with girls is normally very, very drunken and goes on til the early hours. Normally have terrible hangovers afterwards.

HELP ME for gods sake!!!! I cant believe I am starting to be haggered so soon!

I drink a lot of tea. Probably a good 5 - 7 mugs a day - is that a lot of caffeine?

I agree with MI and others. Swimming and walking are 2 good forms of exercise that are relatively easy to pick up especially at this time of year when you're not covered in 10 layers of clothing!I found swimming has been a godsend for me. If you have a local pool, then ask for a timetable and see if there's a time you can fit into your week. And I wouldn't worry about the way you look because if your pool is anything like ours, you'll probably feel a whole lot better once you are in your costume and see there's plenty of people in the same boat as you Grin

Even with mild depression, one of the GP's first recommendations would probably be to start regular exercise as it has all sorts of health and mental health benefits.

I think I might start walking. Take the ipod and just walk for half an hour. Would that benefit me?

yes, even half an hour every other day would probably start making you feel better (also don't be surprised if it really tires you out at first - if you're really unfit, it can take you a couple of weeks to get back into regular exercise)

southeastastra · 06/06/2006 12:47

also just putting on a record and dancing about makes you feel great! try doing the okey cokey with the kids, my children love doing that

pecka · 06/06/2006 13:10

Ok. Im going to walk as often as I can. Going to think about each ciggie I go to light up and see if I can do without it. Im going to cut down on tea and up my water intake. Im going to snack on fruit.

Now....

Who can help me put together a meal plan for the week for the family dinner that will be healthy, simple, tasty enough for us all to enjoy?

I have eaten more fruit today than I have for ages and something struck me. I often dont eat the fruit because I feel like then there is less for DH and kids, hows that for being a second class citizen in my own home!

Ive had 4 satsumas, a banana, a bowl of strawberries, 2 slices of melon, a jacket potato with tuna and a side salad and I think I might feel better for it already!

Yes, now need to decide what to have for lunch :D

I have slipped a little bit, late afternoon sugar cravings kicked in. So I have had 2 oatcakes and gave in to 1 choc chip cookie
