OK, not actually, but it feels like it. Had slight hearing loss for over a year now and, increasingly, a feeling of pressure in my ears (feels like balloons inflating out through my ears).
GP sent me for hearing test, which showed my hearing was 'normal', but I know that it's not. Family and colleagues agree with me. Nurse doing the test said, 'To be honest, these tests are worthless as we're not even in a soundproof room.' Not sure why they bothered, but there we are.
For the past week the pressure feeling has spread to the back of my nose and my throat. My jaw feels tingly and, when I lean forward, it feels like a ball has rolled forward, blocking my airway. That part feels similar to when I get an oral allergy reaction. The hearing loss has also ramped up.
I have allergies and take daily antihistamines. I have autoimmunity and a couple of related diseases.
Any ideas?
My GP is hopeless and won't do anything about anything.
