Are fungal infections in toe nails always yellow?

Mine is black! I do need to see the doctor about it and keep meaning to make an appointment, but always put it off. I always thought it was a fungal infection, but my mil said it could be a blood blister spreading. Although I don't remember banging it enough to create a blood blister.

So is it a fungal infection that's got worse over time? I am the sort of erosion who covers it up nd it will go away :/.

Not this time :(

Are you sure you haven't banged it? DPs big toe turned black yesterday after he accidentally stunned it on the stairgate. I didn't laugh at all :)

Stunned? I meant stubbed. Stupid iPhone.

No, not that I can remember, but could have done. I really need to get it looked at, I just want someone to say, 'on no you'll be fine'!! :D
