DS, 14 with skin tags beneath his nostrils. How to get rid of?

DS has has one growing under one nostril for about a year. It's small, and flesh coloured, about the size of a plastic covered pinhead but a bit nobblier and right on the edge of his nostril at the front so it is quite noticeable- and, tbh, looks like a fleck of clear snot! He picks it off from time to time and it bleeds a lot. It has no neck as such so it can't be tied off. Now one is forming in the same place on his other nostril!

Would a GP take it seriously? Should we cut to the chase and go private from the off? How do you go about 'going private'- do you need a referral from your GP?

I think a GP would whip it off for him. If it upsets him, because it looks like snot or whatever then it is more than just cosmetic.

I should think a GP would be able to freeze it off - it would be very quick. If the GP was reluctant to do this, then you could ask for a referral to a dermatologist. In order to see someone privately then you need a letter from your GP.

You can ask your GP for a dermatologist referral. If it is too slow, ask for a private referral - it won't cost much.

Yes- GP will freeze it off. My brother had one a few years ago when he was a similar age and went down to doc and the doctor froze it off there and then for him

Thanks, all.
