OWWW - I have cystitis and not sure if I can get to town today - What do I do? Have no meds for it, no cranberry juice but it is bloody sore - is there anything else I can do to help?

Drink water, water and more water. A glass every 20 mins for 3 hours, apparently. Flush out your system.

Half a tspn of bicarb dissolved in yet more water may neutralise the urine a bit and make it less painful - but water's the thing Smile

Also sit in solution of bicarb. If you don't have enough bicarb, then first priority is to drink it, second priority is to wipe yourself down before and after peeing with the solution (use a fresh cloth/piece of kitchen roll soaked in solution for each and every wiping). Only if you have loads of bicarb - like several tubs - should you go ahead and sit in it, otherwise you will run out of it for internal use. HTH

Drinkingloads of lemon barley has a similar effect
