Bugsy2 this is alarming cos my mother used to make me breathe in friars balsam when I had a cold

Bugsy2 · 30/05/2006 13:09

yes, we used to inhale it as well. Evil stuff!

bugsy / cappucinno / i used friars balsalm on my pony when he had "strangles". don't ask.....!

Bugsy2 · 30/05/2006 13:28

yup, we used it on the ponies too - used to take out steaming buckets of the stuff in the winter when they had coughs. Used to make their upper lip curl right up!

over the years i've tried all sorts of things to de-zit my bum but nothing ever makes them stay away for good.
I always shower every day, and have used exfoliatators daily, or very other day, I've loofahed it (OUCH!!) all sorts and they alway come back.

Even when I haven't actully got any spots I still have several scars that have been left behind by the big'uns.

Along with the celulite my bum is not a pretty sight.

I once read that it is hereditary(sp??) so if you have brothers and sisters ask them if they have spotty bums too. My SIL tells me that my brother gets them so it's true in my case.

I had an infected mosquito bite (contracted on holidays from boarding school)on my arse which just got worse and worse and worse.
I could hardly walk, could only sit on one cheek and it was excruciatingly painful.
After about 2 weeks of the nice nurses in the sanatorium trying everything to no avail,a braying horsy teacher suggested a horse poultice.
They mixed it in a bucket-hot kaolin and something or other.
Did the trick though-I felt it pop.
The relief was immense

Gingerbear · 30/05/2006 14:47

ROFL @ moondog with horse poultice on arse. Misdee - worth a try?
