Hello all. I was hoping somebody could offer some reassurance about my head. A bit of backstory: I started to feel dizzy October 2011 - I never had a spinning attack of vertigo, but a recurrent, at times constant, sensation of being light-headed, as if I'd had a couple of glasses of wine. No visual disturbances as such but I felt it was an effort to keep my eyes focused. This went on for months - had balance testing, ENT consult, and eventually an MRI, which was clear. Nobody ever offered any diagnosis apart from ongoing labyrinthitis.
Anyway, it seemed to clear up - occasional bursts of dizziness but nothing serious. Last couple of weeks, it's' back with a vengeance. Again no spinning attacks, but the sense of being off kilter, fighting for focus, again exacerbated by scrolling computer screens, moving traffic, supermarket lights. Saw Dr this morning as I have also been quite headachey the last few days: I did the follow-the-finger test and she said I had mild nystagmus. (A dr noticed I had it once before, over a year ago.) I am now freaking out about brain tumours again: dr said it was probably an ear-related flair up but come back in a week.
So: is the clear MRI ten months ago reassuring? Has anyone else had a recurrence of their symptoms like this? How can I stop worrying it's my brain? Thanks if you've read this far and apologies for bleating on.
