metronidazole 200g in pregnancy

I have had a tooth infection and my dentist perscribed 200g of metronidazole and amoxacillin 3 times a day for a week. I told him I could be pregnant and he said it was fine. So i took it, and i have now had a possitive test. And I am now really worried :s I have read its not reccomended.
Has anyone taken this in early pregnancy and had a healthy child? I am really worried and could do with some reassurance

The drug is certainly licensed for use in pregnancy i am on it and have the leaflet sat in front of me.

I am guessing typo as 200g may be an excessive dose! 200mg is the weaker course, more standard is the 400mg course.

I have read comments from many people who have been prescribed it while pregnant and are fine, try not to worry.

I was on Metronidazole in early pregnancy, a higher dosage than you've taken and dc was born fit and healthy!

Oh thank you for the reassurance :) I should never google things! glad to know your baby was healthy. I did mean mg oops!

I took it when I was about 11 weeks I think. I was petrified and even though I am a nurse I must have asked the doctor several times if he was sure it would be ok!
I had tonsillitis and he said put it this way if his wife had it he would make sure she took the medication as the infection not being treated would be worse if left untreated!!

Oh and my DD (2) is fast asleep upstairs, born fit and healthy no problems!!

No issues, I was on 600mg a day for my Crohns with no issues.
