dark patch of skin on my forehead

In the last couple of weeks ive noticed a change in skin colour on my forehead, its about an inch wide splodge.
ive been googling and something called melasma came up but its usually pregnancy related, its been well over a year since I had a baby.
Has anyone else experienced this and is it worth going to see my gp?

I have it, mine appeared during pregnancy (and on my cheeks). I would see GP if I were you, as it is a skin change so better safe than sorry.

Thanks vix, I will book an appointment, the texture of my skin seems to have changed as well. My makeup isn't covering it and someone at work made a comment that I looked like I had a dirty face Shock

Have you been in the sun recently? That makes mine come out like a giant freckle!!

Have you been in the sun? I got this too - it faded in time. It can be caused by the pill I think. Basically any hormonal changes.

x post with vix !

My friend has this. She was just told to put a much stronger sun block on the darker areas as it was her skin reacting unevenly to the sun.

I get something similar, but limited to a thin line around my lips. It makes it look like I've put on a thin line of brown lipliner.

I have a splott on my forehead too

Could it be pigmentation spots? I get a dark skin resembling a moustache and also between my eye brows if I don't wear sun screen in the summer months. It's quite common, happened with age for me (I am 40).
