Stopped smoking, how can I help my lungs recover?

Yay me! I'm on the vaping, to be fair, but I wondered if I could help my lungs recover from many years of roll-ups smoking?

It's been 3 months now and I've not coughed up any yuk, nothing is any different. I'm worried the tar could 'solidify' and wonder if I could eg do some breathing in steam to loosen things?

Just a thought. Any medics, whatever, out there?

just marking place - also vaping - do you feel healthier?

specialsubject · 11/06/2013 13:24

nothing you can do, you've already done the most important thing. Just don't start again!

I feel fatter greeneyed , sadly.

But overjoyed I am no longer smoking! I tried everything - patches, acupuncture, patches, hypnotherapy, patches, patches. Cold turkey once but had the screaming ab-dabs so stopped that prettty quickly.

Are you coughing up any yuk, greeneyed ? I am no different - except I don't stink and wheeze. Tis wonderful to be rid of it. Grading down on the vaping (ie nicotine mg)

Just cna't help wondering if there's anyting I can do. You hear of people getting the Big C when they stop smoking ( greeneyed goes straight back to smoking...)

Um had three fags last night so feeling rough today! Have been vaping about 3 or 4 months, had about 8 fags in that time. Personally I don't see vaping as a good way to give up. I only had a few fags a day now I vape all day! I still see myself as a smoker just that I'm smoking a device. I've actually made my nicotine dependence worse! I have given up for 8 years before though cold Turkey. I think what made the difference was state of mind and the will. If you really WANT to give up you will. Best of luck with it and don't worry about the weight gain for now.
