Tattoos, hepatitis risk and regulation in Spain

Hi I tried this on chat last night but no replies (am going to shamelessly bump for the morning crowd but wondered if I might have more luck here)

My friends husband has arrived back from Spain with a tattoo which he got at a walk in place while drunk with a massive crowd of his mates. W have looked at google and it seems to be unregulated pretty much over there.

Does anyone have any experience, knowledge or advice about this? She is understandably furious with him.

Thanks.

What is it you want to know exactly?

I can help but I have no idea what question you are asking???

RhondaJean · 09/06/2013 11:23

Probably mostly about testing - can he get tested immediately or does he need to wait. How long do results take?

Is there anything else she should be worried about?

And if anyone knows if there is regulation at all in Spain that would help. Thanks.

Check your in box.

Re the uk side of things I can´t help but on the spain side I can sort you out

There is regulation yes, have just read up quite quickly. It's around hygiene , needle use etc. They also have a union that represents tattoo artist / piercers who seem to be campaigning at the moment for minimum training hours.
I can post some pages if you want to put them through google translate?
Otherwise I don't know much about being tested etc

RhondaJean · 09/06/2013 11:28

Thanks!

Here is the page that shows the legislation for the regions www.asociacionmicropigmentacion.com/legislacion/legislacion-autonomica
It's not the same everywhere - depends where he had it done.

RhondaJean · 09/06/2013 11:33

Thanks ken - its in Spanish though.

Most of it looks thorough - so not as worrying as you maybe thought . I would be foaming though !

RhondaJean · 09/06/2013 11:52

Oh she is! I think if I can reassure her she will feel better - but I'd be very surprised if she passed it on to him Grin at least for a couple of days.
