Is it possible to spread any germs from unclean laundry (laundry had been on a rinse only through washing machine didn't realise, germs on laundry were very light bobily fluids semen and vaginal) that ended up in the garden on the grass as it blew off the clothes line, 2 weeks passed it rained a lot will that have been enough time for all germs to die off? I would like to add realtively healthy person's germs just freaking out a bit too much over this??? Realy appreciate reassurance thank you -

There aren't "germs" in bodily fluids (except faeces obviously) unless you have infections.

AMumInScotland · 29/05/2013 13:21

Your bodily fluids don't contain bacteria or viruses unless you have an infection at the time. They are no "dirtier" than your skin is, so your laundry was no more unpleasant than clothes would ordinarily be if they had been through a rinse cycle and then fell on the ground - landing on the grass will make the clothes a bit dirtier, but would not make the grass "dirty" if that is what you are worried about.

Highgirl I remember your other post about this and I'm sorry to hear you're still suffering worry over it.

I also suffer from contamination OCD so understand how you must be feeling. You know in your mind that there isn't really an issue here but you are seeking reassurance because you have that niggling doubt that there could be a problem.

Have you seen your Dr recently? I really think you should make an appointment if you haven't as you are obviously going through a rough patch at the moment.

Please talk to someone - you can't carry on like this and I speak from experience xxx

I have been to the doctors 3 times now and am on meds, it is my one biggest nagging worry that won;t go away and it's an insane one but i need to get to the end of it soon. Ty for your kind message.

I sympathise as I've been there many times but you know there isn't a problem really - its just believing it and the moving on that's hard.

Go back to your Gp and ask for some counselling - it will help xx
