Prolapse of cervix 6 months after sub-total hysterectomy?????

Had to rush to hospital one hour before flying out to Rome last Sunday due to what felt like the tip of a small penis sticking out of my vagina. I had a lap. sub-total hysterectomy in November and felt great after it - admittedly probably did far too much too soon - but couldn't sit around for so long.

I had been on the go gardening all day last Sunday and rushing around hoovering etc etc etc to leave 2 eighteen year olds and a 15 yr old at home for the 5 days we were away so was wondering if I might get away with it with massive amounts of pelvic floor exercises or if I need something more. The doctor in hospital said it was my cervix and that my actual vagina was OK so she said it was OK to travel.

Anyone else had this. I really quite worried now that everything is going to start falling out (bladder, bowels etc etc) so trying not to do much of anything. Very frustrated about it all after feeling so well.

Advice please??

Thanks everybody.

I'm afraid I've no advice but remember you from last year and wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your problems. Hope it gets sorted out soon.

Yes. I sorted mine out but its something you have to work on every day. Mine happened after I my periods became less frequent as I am approaching the menopause I guess. I had had food poisoning and a cough so had been straining a lot and the same thing happened to me. I looked on the many threads on here and found that its very common. I took the route of really really exercising my pelvic floor and within a week or so the prolapse moved back up and its not a problem any more. But I do keep doing the excercises every day. Its been nearly a year now and its all good. I used to be a runner but cant do that anymore though cause that causes too much strain on the pelvic floor.

Thank you so much ladies for the support and advice. Have been exercising my muscles like mad all day and will do so each and every day now. Really don't want another op. It's great to hear that it worked for you Rulesgirl - hope I'm as fortunate. Watch this space.
