The only advice I can give right now is try not to prod, the more you do the more tender or inflamed you might make it which will increase your worry.

Hopefully someone with more experience will be able to give you some more reassuring advice.

How worrying for you. Is there something you can do or watch to take your mind off it before you go to bed?

Rewy · 23/05/2013 22:34

Sleep well - and go and see your GP tomorrow.

There are loads of reasons for thyroid lumps (nodules). A notable one would be overactive or underactive thyroid. Have you had blood tests for this? Given the weight loss and stress, I would say that was something to be ruled out. Many people have benign thyroid nodules which are only discovered incidentally. I've got one. Been there for years.

The pea-lump under your armpit could be a gland. It could also be a coincidence. I can often feel a lump in each armpit, particularly if I've had a cold or other infection. If your thyroid is dicky because it's over- or under- active, I would think you won't be dealing with infections normally Not a doctor though.

I would agree with those who say go straight back to your GP. He or she may be able to speed up the ultrasound referral for your thyroid if nothing else.

I hope you are feeling better today, and that you saw your GP.

yes go see the doctor, it may just be your lymph nodes though. Have you been poorly at all..it can be a sign that your body is fighting something off x

Hi sorry im so late updating this.
I went to the GP he was confident that the lump under my arm was a harmless cyst and said that the thyroid lump was most probably the same .I just need to wait now for the scan on my thyroid next month.
Thankyou for the support ,it means a lot .

Good luck with the scan. I won't say try not to worry, but make sure you have things to do to keep your mind off it. :)

Good luck OP
