he has stuck a playmobile cannonball up his nose!
he wouldn't go to sleep so we let him stay up , he was playing on the floor and then we noticed he was getting fidgety and picking his nose.dh instantly knew what he ahd done.
he's had to take him alone cos ds1 is asleep in bed and has school tomorrow.my friend round the corner is out so can't sit for me.

alternately very worried and finding it funny.
i'm sure my life is being messed with by some jeremy beadle esque deity..

Have just read this thread and it gave me a giggle. I hope your ds2 is ok and not too traumatised. I know its worrying at the time but im sure in a few days time you will see the funny side. I got a smartie stuck up my nose when i was about 5 (my big brother told me to sniff it so i did only i sniffed a bit too hard and when i tried to get it out i pushed it further up) I still remember having to wait for it to meltGrin My dh got a subutteo ball stuck in his ear so i think its quite normal for kids to do this type of thing at some point, not sure why though.

I would like to say that kids grow out of getting things stuck in weird places but my 19yr old nephew recently got the end of a pen stuck in his ear and a piece of uncooked spaghetti Shock, both times he claimed he had an itch that was annoying him, why he didnt use a cotton bud we do not know. When he was a child he managed to stuff a sheet of paper up one nostril, he had ripped it up then shoved it as high up as it would go.

Hopefully your son will have learnt his lesson, my nephew obviously didnt

I had a friend who as a child would lay in bed and push the foam stuffing from her teddy bear up her nose. This went on for weeks. Eventually she started to smell and her poor mum couldn't work out why. The doctors discovered that her nasal cavity was full of fluff and it had started to go a bit nasty. Don't know how they got it all out and hope no one is still eating their breakfast!!

Ds did this with a chickpea at nursery when he was 3. It was too mushy to respond to the parent kiss so it was tweezered out.
He never did that again.
Your ds2 will be fine alexsmum, honestly. :)

alexsmum · 23/05/2006 15:56

he is fine! they got it out with a pair of tweezers and although he cried a little , he was ok.
he was talking about it to me today today and i said' it was a silly thing to do wasn't it?' and replied 'no, it was funny!'

dh had a laugh over it last night once the little terror was in bed!

DS2 managed to get an inch long piece of cooked macaroni up his. Thankfully I got him to snort it out by holding the other nostril shut. It was like a magician producing a long stream of flags from his sleeve - the pasta just kept coming :o

Glad your DS is fine:)

Big Tweezer I should imagine Alexsmum. When i was 2 stuck a mastermind peg up my nose, told my mum I had stuck a green one up there and had a huge bulge by the bridge of my nose.
We went to A&E (about the 5th time in 2 weeks i think) where I had it removed with these hufe tweezer things and it was Blue. Mum was cursing that i couldn't even get the colour right.
Neddless to say i didn't stick anything up nose again. Hope DS is all better now :)
