is it normal to feel unwell

when your on a period?
this is day 3 of my period and today it's really heavy, i feel sick, have period pains, headache and a funny taste/feeling in the back of my throat.
i do sometimes feel a bit iffy at period time but but not sick, today i feel really rough.

is it normal?

Since having DS, I generally feel really crap for a couple of days at this time, yes.

Evening primrose is supposed to help (after a few months of taking it though).

Periods are different for everyone. Some months I sail through mine, others I just want to curl up in bed for a week!

In the last year or so I have felt like this for the first couple of days of my period, but then I am in my early forties so I think it's kind of to be expected.

no, not on the pill at he moment

Ok, because I felt infinitely worse when not on the pill!

I've heard that about Evening Primrose too. Also Nurofen (or sim.) is meant to be better for period pain rather than paracetemol.

I often feel ill during my period too but not in the way you describe. I get very tired and sometimes just feel out of sorts, not quite sure how to describe it. I went to the GP and had some tests done but nothing showed up so I guess it is just to be endured - sorry.
