teenage girl embarrassing sweaty armpits

Title says it all really. She is feeling embarrassed at school. Seems to make no difference whether she wears short sleeves/long sleeves etc. School blouses are light blue and she feels self conscious about wet patches. Tried strong underarm sure/dove stick deodrant. Any tips or help would be very very gratefully accepted.

Driclor is very good. I had this problem after pregnancy & it worked very well. You can buy it from boots. Make sure she doesn't shave her pits for a couple of days before using it or it stings like mad!

My thought would be to try her with Mitchum for a bit, and if that doesn't work, consider GP. There is a condition called hyper hydrosis, which really just means 'over-sweating'. I think though that perspiration can be a bit all over the place during teenage years.

Would a relaxation tape/cd help? Could be in part due to stress, and worrying about it might be making it worse.

Can remember suffering myself, and I started to worry about it, so even Mitchum didn't work - this was the only antiperspirant around at the time.

Yes, agree was just going to say driclor too. I had same prob as teenager and it changed my life. I also grew out of the problem in a few years.

I'm a right sweaty bugger, I use Mitchum roll on and its been brilliant (& smells like baby powder ) Doesn't stop my back/palms/feet/back of knees from being soaking wet but I never have an issue with my pits!

chicken do you use it that often? I know it says to on instructions but i found using it s couple of times left me sweat free for a few weeks.

BTW I remember someone walking past me in a club once, he put his hand on the small of my back to get past and the look of horror on his face has stayed with me, so I know how she feels, it is mortifying

You can get dress shields to stop wet patches on clothes from ebay or amazon and probably lots of other places.

As an extreme solution I have seen (on tv) people having botox injected to stop the sweating altogether!

Just realised after looking at the other thread linked it actually perspirex I used not driclor.

I use it once a week in summer and once a fortnight in the winter

13 yo dd tends to use it 2-3 times a week and uses it on her palms and face as well

Mitchum literally stops me sweating ever. I used to ruin clothes :(

Anhydrol Forte. Use it for 2 nights, washing off in the morning, then have 2 nights of not using it, then use again for 2 nights.

Itchy as hell while it's on but worth it.

She'll be dry in a week.

Recommend Mitchum too. Brilliant stuff, always been sweaty and could never wear certain types of clothes till I found this. Works miracles!

poor her I had this as teenager, and as others have said was fixed, miraculously by Mitchum.

My DD is 11 and wont take her cardigan off because of sweat patches, again a light blue shirt. I said to her yesterday about the sweat shields, but might try some of the other stuff mentioned.

Mitchum isn't working for me atm. I've used the Sure one and found it to be pretty good.

Make sure the shirts are 100% cotton. Anything with polyester in will make you sweat more

Anhydrol Forte here too. I've been a right sweaty Betty my whole life and this is the only thing that works, even if it does sting to buggery.

Had to go to New York with work last June when it was ridiculously hot and it definitely helped in keeping me dry (wish I'd put it on my forehead tbh as a wet fringe isn't the best look ) . You can use it on feet too.

It can sting like hell but it will work.

I sweat badly and the only thing that works for me are the stick deodorants. None of the roll ons or sprays work for me. I have used both mitchum and dove with good results. These are the ones

What a posse we sweaters are

First off Mitchum, and get into the habit of rolling it on early, then drying hair etc. I find it much much more effective if you let it dry before getting dressed but it is slow drying.

Secondly, driclor is available in Boots but it itches like crazy and keeps me awake. I do not recommend it for a teenager. Almost as effective is Triple Dry, same shelf as Mitchum. Apply at night, more frequently than driclor but it is a lot kinder to skin.

And thirdly, I find when I get my armpits under control, the rest of me sweats more, face, back, groin. Nice!
