My period is on day 11! Light bleeding. Should I be worried?

I am hoping there is a benign explanation - I am 45, perhaps it is peri menopause?

Have also noticed that my cycle has shortened to around 24 days (formerly 28)

I have a routine cervical smear test booked for next Tuesday

Could well be menopause related. Monitor things for a few months and see how it goes.

Could be a bit of breakthrough bleeding at ovulation. I had this, and the dr was happy to get me checked out (scan, etc). It was all fine, think it is quite common but good to get it checked, I think.
