MANUKA honey! does it work on rynositis

I've suffered chronic rhinocitis for years and am running out of treatment options. Just been recommended Manila honey for this condition. Has anyone got any success stories with this product? Thanks

I haven't taken honey but I did take pollen tablets for hay fever. I presume it's the same idea? The idea being that your body gets used to the allergen in a form it can cope with. Therefore, not reacting to it in other ways.
I took it for hay fever and it didn't take it away but did relieve the symptoms by about 80%.
May be worth a bash if nothing else works? Nothing to lose really

Hi. I found three references online that show that a nasal rinse of manuka honey can be helpful in rhinitis (I couldn't find anything about rynositis!)

Awa thanks for the links it all sounds very positive. I did mean rhinitis its just my spelling being appalling.

It depends a little on what is causing your rhinitis. If it is caused by pollen, then you are probably better of trying some local honey from the region you live in. The idea being that it will contain some amounts of the same types of pollen, and help your body become de-sensitised to them.

If anyone is going to try manuka honey, then it is important to get the right one. The scientific study linked above specifically used a medical honey product. Not all manuka honey sold has suitable properties:
